OUR PEOPLE

With a team of dedicated, thoughtful people that genuinely care about making lighting better, we’re raising the bar. Raising expectations that lighting can be both beautiful and uncomplicated, so you can thrive.

 

James is the Founder and CEO of Valet. As CEO, he is currently focused on how to best organize for the future. He is Lighting Certified (LC) by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions and has over 10 years experience leading Valet.

James has lived all over the US, but grew up in the Mountain West where he developed a love for sports and the outdoors. He was an academic and athletic All-American college baseball player at Arkansas and Southern Miss while earning a BA in Philosophy. His senior year at USM, he was elected Team Captain and played in the College World Series for the first time in school history. James was drafted in the 12th round and played professional baseball in the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds organizations.

While earning his MS in Geography, James was assistant-editor for the Southeastern Geographer, drilled ice cores for climate research on the McCall Glacier in the Brooks Range of Alaska, and climbed all 58 14,000’ peaks in CO for thesis research. He Co-Founded Valet in 2013 while writing and defending his master’s thesis.

James is passionate about philosophy, reading, fitness, nutrition, music, and mountaineering. To keep the fires burning, he has a growing list of mountaineering accomplishments, including the Grand Teton and every state highpoint in the contiguous US from the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. His next objectives include: Denali, CA 14ers, PNW volcanoes, CO 13ers, and the highest peaks in Europe and Canada.        

James has been a member of EO Nashville since March of 2020. He is married to his college sweetheart, Ashley, and they have two boys, Oliver (7) and Walden (4).

JAMES EWING

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Ashley's path to heading up all things financial for Valet started with an accounting course in high school and over 9 years (and counting) experience as an enrolled agent with her own tax business. 

Hailing from the countryside of Mississippi, Ashley enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors, gardening, yoga, and DIY projects.

Ashley has a BA in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is married with two children.

ASHLEY EWING

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Kevin is interested in the intersection of sustainability and economic development. Since joining Valet in 2014, the focus of that interest has been on how to positively impact businesses and communities via energy efficiency.

Armed with over a decade of facility management and operations experience, Kevin is responsible for delivering an unparalleled customer experience and developing long-lasting relationships.

 

Aside from Valet, Kevin is into woodworking, cooking, vintage/boutique shaving products, and fine coffee. Kevin is an outdoorsman, and can often be found kayaking and fishing in the Tennessee hills. 

 

Kevin is Lighting Certified (LC) by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions and has a BS in geography. He is happily married to his wife, Staci, and shares his home with his 100 lb. Anatolian Shepherd, Hubs.

KEVIN DAVIS

SENIOR SALES ENGINEER

Crissy was born and raised in Petal, Mississippi, the youngest of seven children. At a young age, she knew she wanted a career that included connecting with people of all different backgrounds. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Business & Marketing, she worked in operations management, as well as the medical sales industry. Joining Valet at the beginning of 2017, Crissy is responsible for internal team operations, as well as sharing Valet’s value proposition to current and future customers. She loves the fast-paced and ever-changing world of lighting within commercial real estate. 

 

Crissy has enjoyed living in Mississippi and Tennessee but currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina. She enjoys spending her free time hiking the Blue Ridge, kayaking, weekends of live music, and sporting events with her son.

CRISSY MATESICH

project MANAGER

Noya joined Valet in December 2018. She is interested in the intersection of energy efficiency, sustainability, business, and economics. 

Originally from Israel, Noya is fluent in Hebrew and enjoys talking with her family overseas. She’s an environmental advocate, enjoys traveling and baking, and practices yoga. New to parenthood, she and her husband love spending time outside with their son.

Noya has a BS in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. 

NOYA LIVNE KANTER

PROJECT manager

Zach, a native of Franklin, Tennessee, began working in the lighting industry in 2019 when he joined Valet Energy. Prior to Valet, Zach worked in the finance industry in Indianapolis, Indiana after he graduated from Butler University with a degree in Finance and Marketing. During his time at Butler, Zach was a proud member of the football team. Through sports, he discovered his passion of being a reliable team member contributing towards a common goal. Looking to pursue his passion, Zach found the perfect outlet working at Valet. He strives to utilize teamwork to ensure the lighting process is a smooth experience for all stakeholders throughout a project. In his free time, Zach enjoys watching sports, playing golf, and going to concerts.

ZACHARY BACON

APPLICATION ENGINEER

Born, raised, and a recent homeowner in Murfreesboro, Garrett is a long-time Middle Tennessean. Originally earning a BS in Biology at Harding University, Garrett has an earnest passion for understanding the “why” behind everything in our world. 

Garrett had a lightbulb moment in 2021 leading him to join the team at Valet. Valet’s emphasis on creating a positive customer experience resonates with Garrett, so he spends each day focused on how to add value to the interactions between members of the Valet team and our partners. Garrett is passionate about fulfilling Valet’s mission to make life better for our partners, and he strives each day to make this a reality. 

Outside of work, Garrett enjoys giving his time to his passions for guitar, home DIY projects, and relaxing in the company of his wife and two rescued mutts.
